"For the fight of all workers, the metalworkers will hold strong"

After the massive strikes on May 13, the 'Atelier Populaire" designed posters for many of the trade unions. Before printing, each design was reviewed by a committee of students and judged for its effectiveness. The Mai '68 posters revitalized the almost forgotten revolutionary tradition of the poster. These posters effectively influenced and made people aware; they spurred conversation and stopped people in their tracks. In their graphic simplicity, these posters reflect the fusion of creativity and political activism and document an important historical moment.
