Privat Livemont was a Belgian artist who pioneered the Art-Nouveau movement in his homeland during early 1890s. An established painter, he ventured into posters by entering a poster design contest that garnered him first prize. Following this, he learned more about the art of lithography as he created a number of advertising posters.
Privat Livemont's posters are recognized by his signature portrayal of women, richly adorned and decorated and always outlined in white to give them an aura of purity.
His work can be seen today in museums and galleries throughout the world. |
