Hermann Kosel was born on March 20, 1896 to Hermann Clemens and Anna Kosel. Hermann Clemens Kosel was a renaissance man working as an author, inventor, photographer and biographer. He was very well known as a prominent portrait photographer among the wealthy in Vienna, and due to his love and connections to the art scene, Hermann Clemens Kosel set the foundation of his son, Hermann Kosel's career.
Hermann Kosel attended The Academy of Fine Arts after his high school years. At the age of 19, after finishing his education, Kosel took a brief tour in the military as a gunner. Five years later he was tapping into his Father's vast connections and began his artistic career as a portrait painter in Vienna. |
